Charity Support

Throughout the year, the Tokyo Canadians Hockey Club hold various fundraising functions, and donate a portion of the proceeds to charity.

In recent years, the team has made donations to the YMCA Foreign Community Supporting Commitee, the Tokyo International Learning Center, and to Father Joe's Human Development Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.

Each fall, the team participates in the Terry Fox Run in Tokyo, and help to raise funds for cancer research.

In January 2005, the Tokyo Canadians raised 300,000 yen for a donation to the Red Cross Thailand, in support of their tsunami relief efforts.

We hope to continue our support of these worthy institutions and possibly add others to the list in years to come.

The team takes this role seriously and take pride in being to help out whenever possible, and provide support to organizations who help others.

The 2004 Northwest Airlines Charity Hockey Tournament raised 200,000 yen for donation to the YMCA Foriegn Community Supporting Commitee. The YMCA-FCSC are key contributors for the YMCA's Challenged Children Camps, Youth Leadership Projects, and other related activities for children in need.

The YMCA's Greg Hurnall presents a Letter of Appreciation to Tokyo Canadians President Jason Young. On hand are Nick Masee from tournament sponsor Premier Worldwide Movers, and #10 Scott McCaskie.
